Terms of Service

Effective date: February 28, 2026  ·  Last updated: February 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using VeriJob ("Service", "we", "us") — available at verijob.work — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and any other party that interacts with the Service.

2. What VeriJob Does

VeriJob is an automated job-posting authenticity analysis tool. It uses machine-learning models, public web searches, email DNS checks, and heuristic scoring to produce a probabilistic score (0–100) estimating whether a given job listing is genuine.

VeriJob scores are informational only. They are not guarantees of a job's legitimacy or illegitimacy, and they do not constitute legal, financial, employment, or professional advice of any kind. No score — however high or low — should be treated as the sole basis for any hiring, application, or business decision.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using VeriJob you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Accounts & Registration

  • You may use certain features of the Service without creating an account. A registered account is required to save scan history, access the dashboard, and use candidate verification features.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any individual, company, or recruiter.
  • Submit false, fabricated, or misleading job content with the intent of generating fraudulent scores or manipulating results.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, bulk-query, or otherwise extract the Service's underlying data, models, or APIs beyond what is made available for normal use.
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Circumvent any security or authentication mechanisms.
  • Use automated tools (bots, crawlers, scripts) to interact with the Service without prior written consent.

6. Content You Submit

When you submit a job posting URL or paste job description text, you represent that you have the right to do so and that doing so does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights. You retain ownership of any content you submit. By submitting content, you grant VeriJob a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and store that content for the purpose of providing the Service, improving analysis accuracy, and generating aggregate (anonymized) statistics.

7. Scores, Analysis & Limitations

The VeriJob score is produced by automated systems, including third-party large language models (currently hosted on Groq), web search APIs, and DNS lookups. These systems:

  • Can produce false positives (marking a genuine job as suspicious) and false negatives (failing to detect a fraudulent listing).
  • Rely on publicly available data that may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate.
  • Are not a substitute for your own due diligence, including direct verification with a prospective employer.

VeriJob makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any score or analysis result.

8. Optional Donations

VeriJob offers an optional, voluntary donation ("buy me a coffee") processed through Stripe. Donations are not required to use the Service and are non-refundable. They do not constitute a purchase of any product, service level, or future feature. No goods or services are provided in exchange for a donation.

9. Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, logos (including the VeriShield logo), trade names, and original content on the Service are the exclusive property of VeriJob and its owner. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the Service except as expressly permitted in writing.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (Groq, Serper, Stripe, Render, etc.). Your use of those integrations may be subject to the respective provider's own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy (coming soon). In summary: we do not sell your personal data; we store only what is necessary to provide the Service; and we use industry-standard security measures to protect it.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VERIJOB AND ITS OWNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR DAMAGE TO REPUTATION — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $10.00.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VeriJob and its owner from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice or cause. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. Sections 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 16 survive termination.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

17. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
